AHTF Virtual 5K Run Walk 2026

Introducing our 2026 Virtual 5K Run Honorary Chair:

“I was in the Research Committee and brought a suggestion from Judy Bell-Krotoski that it might be a good time to start a hand therapy foundation. Once the committee approved the idea, I was assigned to set up some of the original ideas about goals and guidelines for a hand therapy foundation. I worked with Lauren Rivet and Jane Bear-Lehman to develop a plan and submitted it to the Research Committee. By December 1989, with approval of the plan to move forward by Nancy Canon, Nancy submitted the foundational plan of By-Laws, which we signed by Dec 31, 1989, and the American Hand Therapy was officially approved. I served on AHTF for five years, and was vice chair and later Chairperson for about a year. In the beginning, it was up to me to invite other foundation members, including Judy Bell-Krotoski, Elaine Fess, Katherine Schultz, and a few others. I am thrilled now at how the foundation has grown. Before I left the foundation I had suggested the Burkhalter grant which has truly grown, along with several others which is reflective of how well the Foundation members have been successful in gaining substantial donations.”
