Mary Kasch Scholarship

Mary Kasch Scholarship

The American Hand Therapy Foundation was sad to learn of the passing 5/21/12 of Mary Kasch after a strong battle. In addition to being one of the six original organizers of the American Society of Hand Therapists, and a founder of hand therapy, Mary became “Ms. Certification” with her devotion to and conquest of certification for hand therapists. The pathways she created to hand and upper extremity education encourage vigilance for excellence in practice, and full recognition of the research needed to substantiate practice for all therapists and the clients we serve. Her friends and family are in our hearts and prayers, and we join them in celebration of a life well spent. What a great network of friends and family she has had both in personal life and work. We share in their grief, take joy in her peace, AND WE WILL MISS HER.

-AHTF Board

“There is no way for any of us to fully know, appreciate or acknowledge Mary’s contribution to our lives and our profession. Her talent for vision, her capacity for insight, her dedication to purpose permeate the past forty years of our profession. Novice or master clinician alike, hand therapists throughout the world have been touched by the life of Mary Kasch. It is hard to imagine a world without her expertise guiding it. We have been blessed and privileged to share her tenure.”
